I must say it is a large download, but it works and is worth it.

But isn't it in Russian?

NO........when you install it, it will ask you for the language. Trust me, it is worth the download time.

If you go back one step in the directory tree and click TIS, or simply replace ETK by TIS in the link you will get the TIS (which describes maintenance procedures) files also....i have not tried these to know if they are english or russian, but most probably it will ask you to select the language upon installing the software.

detailed installation instructions in various languages.
For example here is the
Microfilter installation (http://www.david750.de/hp1/eba/mikrofilter.pdf)

This is one sample of my own link page.

Apart from the TIS, ETK and EBA what other interesting ones are there?

any that are for retrofiting items?

that is the easiest. But I assume that the are not originals.
EBA's are for retrofits.
The ETK is the spare parts catalog. By inputting your chassis number you can exactly find the correct part number for your car and the explosion drawings.
The TIS is the technical information service for dealers.
Here another EBA one for the Lumbar support.

Do you know what's the password to install? Thanks

Installation instructions are as follows:
1) insert the ETK CD into your drive. Go to %driveletter%:\win95\bmw\etk and run setup.exe. This installs the Sysadmin part.
2) From the Sysadmn tool click EPC, then install. This loads the ETK/EPC stuff. This can take a while to install.
3) From the Sysadmin tool click TIS, then install. This loads the TIS. I believe you can load this onto your PC or have it so it will require the CD.

If you install in this order you shouldn't be prompted for a password.

FYI the newer ETKs don't seem to have as many e34 parts as the older versions. Some part numbers have changed since then, so if you as for a specific part the vendor might use another number. This has happened to me before, esp with bulbs.

What program should I use to open the EBA once downloaded?

rickm

If it's an iso, you can burn it to a CD with Nero (or any burning software) or you can use Winrar (rarsoft.com I think) to open and extract it. If you want to install but don't want to burn it you could mount the image with DemonTools or the like.

The EBA has nothing regards E34 in it, dont waste a 500meg download!

its just got the E39 i think

you need an older version im guessing..

I have installed the ETK many times and this is the first time it has ever asked for a password. The password is "berlin56." (without the quotes).

have you seen the 2 samples I linked abv? That was for E34 and E32.
I have plenty of more samples available for E 32/E34, because it is usually the same.

How do you change the language on TIS to English?

netmgr
05-30-2004, 06:49 PM
The TIS is written on this download in Russian

The ETK has language options but you cant change it on the TIS you need another copy, in english

I have installed the ETK from the sysadmin and it works perfectly..!

Yes i did that however when i checked version it still said i was running the same previous version but that i had 1-2004 loaded in the cd. So i completely removed my prior installation and now it will not install w/o errors. Maybe i need to redownload it but ive tried this befre with the same result. Has any1 installed this w/o a previous installation present? Could someone check their version for me and make sure it is 1-2004? thx for any1 who will help

If you've removed it and wish to reinstall you'll have to delete the directory it was installed in - the remove process doesn't get rid of everything.
