So the short shift kit i got included a new shifting arm bearing sleeve part #2 (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=HD53&mospid=47404&btnr=25_0025&hg=25&fg=05). Looking at my old one its a good think they included it but i cant figure out how to push it into the arm!

I have been trying for awhile with dish soap and then wd40 to work the lip of the "bearing" into the arm but it seems impossible. Im pretty sure if i just try to press it the lip will just rip right off.

Has anybody replaced one of these before, are there any tricks?

Shouldn't be too difficult. I've done it twice before and don't recall it being outrageously tight. How well does the 'bitch clip' (#3) fit into the sle.eve? I ask just to confirm whether you have the correct part. How does it compare with the old one?

Sorry I can't be more help. I'd just jam it in there and hope for the best. Worst case is you have to get a new one (from the dealer this time).

i tried this before and the metal tube in the middle of the bush ended up pushing through the rubber and f**ked the bush. i had to turn one up out of nylon
