Will the muffler from a late 90s 328is fit a mid-90s 325is?

i'm pretty sure its a direct swap. check the parts catalog and compare part numbers for the hanging bits to see if they are the same...

you could also check with car-part.com or a salvage yard and see what the part interchange is - i'm pretty sure they are interchangeable....

Looking at the 328i muffler in a picture (that's all I have to go by so far) they look like they might swap. Parts numbers are different.

But, the 328i muffler has a vacuum servo thingy on the rear part. Is this some sort of device to control an internal flap to adjust exhaust back-pressure, or what?
