there is a tab on the side that you have to slide in (all the way!) then the top edge will pull back from the bumper. on mine the tab can be quite stiff and so can the cover even after cleaning and lubing.

ok i got it but it yielded no answer to my problem which is a coolant leak i cant find out where its comin from i got the cover off and all behind it is all green is that mini rad behind the cover the a/c condenser? if so i already know that has a leak...could all the green be the freon?

i dunno about the green stuff it's either that or coolant but yes that is the ac condensor - mine has always been toast.

Spotted this thread and hope you dont mind my jumping in. I appear to have two covers in the rear sill - one is about 3x3" and the other is about 7x4". I havent removed either but guess the first one is indeed for the tow hook. The are no signs my car was ever fitted with a hitch but my guess is thats what the second one may be for. Any thoughts appreciated

What color is your windshield washer fluid Sam-Son? If the hoses break under the hood lining, it'll leak down the front and may be responsible for the green coating.

that's really strange - it can only be so many things. there is also p/s fluid and transmission fluid and maybe brake fluid that could end up there but i never heard of those being green... i would check all my fluids until i found the green stuff. if that is freon i don't thnk you should touch and smell it that much but i don't know anything about that... i'm almost glad my ac's busted... it can't break!
