Hi all, long time since I've posted.
Looking for some information:

Anyone know if the crankshaft bolt pattern is the same between the M60 and the M62?

I am (hopefully) about to finally swap out the 5-Speed automatic for a 6-Speed Manual and I was wondering if I can use the E39 Flywheel and clutch if it is a direct bolt-up.

I have checked on RealOEM and the Crank part numbers are different as are the Flywheel part numbers....but that means nothing really.

Thanks guys, this should be a good swap once done.

eeek! There is nothing like a manual e34, esp a big one.

Maybe you can you get the M62 as well??

BTW; How did the auto rebuild go? Can you sell that tranny?

Just one thing- how does the tranny change affects your insurance? It's a pig, but I've found my insurance companies don't like modified cars... and from the fine print it is clear they refuse to pay up if you don't tell them a change has been made... :) Nick

Genphreak, GP :)

How you guys doing?

Yeah the 6-Speed swap isn't going to pose a problem, Shannons are good with it.
The Auto rebuild?? That was exxy, 6.5K but it's completely new and drives as sweet as! Just about to drop the oil and filter for it's first 20K service in fact.
I guess I will recoup some money on it. If it goes some of the way to recovering the cost of the parts for the 6-Speed conversion I will be happy.

Don't want the M62, I have a perfectly good M60 :p 4 liters of goodness
