In Staples car park today I saw a dakar yellow E34, at first I thought Dakar was only available for the E36 and Z3, but after a quick search on AutoTrader they have two 840's and an E46.

I searched on Google and only found 1 picture, was it available on the E34 as an individual option?

p.s. It looked awesome. :D

I know that there's 5 E34 M5's (that's total worldwide production) that were factory Dakar Yellow paint jobs. And yes, I think that was a BMW Individual color option. So it was something that could be done, just wasn't done very often.

I grabbed this model kit a while back off ebay. I had always wondered if this is how the japanese liked their M5s. The yellow def struck me as unique (although not my cup of tea personally). I can imagine it was pretty striking in real life though.

Safe bet the double decker "WING" this kit is so proud of was not a standard option though...;)

Cheers for the info guys, i don't think it was an M5 I saw, so it must have been an individual option. :D

I saw a lot more of it today, I was going one way and it was coming towards me, the M5 bodykit :), it was H-reg (hopefully it was a 3.6)...it carried on coming towards me... I saw a spoiler :(, and then the blacked out rear lights. :(

Where did you see this?

I can go look up where the 5 M5's are (or were last know to be) when I've got a chance.
