View Full Version : Twitchy ride with aircon on

My car doesn't run very well with the aircon on: Its not unusable, but you get the occasional slight twitch in the drive.

Its like a slight misfire or very quick light dab of the brakes.

I'm suspecting it could be the compressor drive belt intermittently slipping, although there are no slipping belt noises. I'd expect if the compressor was faulty the symptoms would be worse

Would this be right?

This could be your compressor starting to seize up I suppose, try turning it by hand and see how much force you need to turn it over.

Grab the inner front of the clutch mechanism without the engine running and try turning it.

I assume it should be quite easy to turn then?

LMAO... I doubt you will be able to turn it 1200 rpms to see this. the magnetic cluth could be wearing out or you could be low on freon.

Iīve got the exact same twitchyness with my AC running, havenīt gotten around to figure out exactly what is causing it..
