As some poeple know I am in the process of building a dedicated E36 325is race car.
Now, I am thinking buying a E38 740i or E39 528i/540i for evryday driving summer, winter without all the mod that I have on the 535i.
Time to downsize the number of cars to 2 instead of 3...

I might have to remove all the mods (a big part of them) from the 535i like:
- MAF
- Sway bars
- 4 piston callipers with rotors

So the 525i is for sale for sure for 5000 Cdn
And the 535i might end up for sale for 12000 Cdn with the mods or 9 500 Cdn without.

Good luck! Thanks for all your help Bruno. I wouldn't have had the courage to even start all of this if it wasn't for your website and the messageboards. It is always a big help just to have a stepping stone, and your website provided that early on in my ownership. It has since been a great reference point. Good luck selling your E34s.

Scott

I'm really bummed. Bruno has been the de facto leader of the E34s with his website and sage advice. Will you keep the website running? Is anyone else qualified enough to take it over? Good Luck with your race car!!!

A lot of people off loading their E-34's.
Since you have been so quiet lately, I have been looking for you in some cameo shots of American Thunder figuring you switched to motorcyles. Unlike Scott, in spite of your masterful website and it is tremendous, I would have had the courage to do everything to my car anyway. :p Keep in mind, I still have some of your stuff. It goes on ebay if you don't pick it up by the weekend ;)
I have always felt a modded 3 series is the only way to go for the track.
Cheers,
George

Say it ain't so, Joe! Say it ain't so!

Oh well, at least your staying with BMWs- I don't know if I'd pick an e38 or e39 over my 535i, but to each his own. Personally, I'm saving up for a GenII RX7, but there aren't any plans to ditch the 5 anytime soon :)

Good luck!!!

those little rice burners really burn up the track.

Enjoy the race car, I think an E36 would be a great time on the track.

That's what I hear- I'm just worried about maintenance on the rotary, what with all the seal horror stories and all.

I am not dead... I am still working on a lot of E34s. But there is way more E36 owners willing to spend money to modigy their cars then E34s...

I really enjoyed my E34, and maybe I should test drive a E39 before selling my 535i...

Yep, but I would also consider a first gen for a good price.

Yes, I think you are right. You are a very talented individual, and you should explore the aspects of the E36 racing side. Based on what you have learned and shared with the board over the years, your talent should be used to move on and not become idle.

Your choice of a daily driver is a subliminal message of what's in store for the future. Bruno, we all know you can't leave well enough alone....=) and with that, "Good for you". I'm glad you research and work on these cars, you've saved people a forture over the years by sharing your experience and compiling others to form the BMWE34.net which is an astounding success.

The E36 is a fine car to modify and once sorted, can be very competitive, and offer satisfaction on the track. Knowing that you will squeeze every amount of HP and performance that's possible from a car. We're pulling for you! But most of all, enjoy the journey, for that's why we're all here.....

Good luck with your new project and we expect to be kept up to date on the 3er board!!!!

Ahem... Maybe you should try out a new ZHP 330i. Nice for daily driving or a great platform the track..... ;)

http://www.bimmernut.com/~micah/images/330zhp/FrontThreeQuarter.JPG

Current round of NA incentives run out at the end of June. Too late for a factory order, but there should be some ZHP's on the lots......

Whichever way you go - good luck with your selection. It's a tough call moving on from a car as great as the e34. But there are a number of other great choices out there. I looked into e39's and e38's as you mention. Lots of fun to be had. In the end I chose a newer path, but they're all great options.

Quite a few have already sold or are selling their E34's. I am also at the point of moving on, but know that I will miss them, especially the 1991 ///M5.

I guess this means we will not have another NY E34 meet???

Being in Canada, I don't feel like importing a car from the states...
But this is a great price.

I am looking at some E39 540i 6 speed for around 14 15kUS$.

Gotta be a 5 speed at least.
