Hello,

As I become more and more interested in DIY jobs, I'm considering getting a small ramp which would fit in my garage (your usual two cars wide garage, ceiling is low though).

Does anyone here have a personal ramp? What kind of ramp should I get and which one is the best for a DIY in his garage.

Cheers.

Mordan

EDIT: I did found Rhino Ramp on the net

here for example.

thx for the answers.

Those are cool and already better and more practical than my jack stands.

However I'm talking about something substantial :
4 movable pillars in steel. each pillars had a pump/motor to move up the car.
I only want to move the car say 30 inches from the floor.
maybe I'm dreaming and this kind of tool is way too dangerous.

Black Rhino Ramp! It is the best and no brainer... it has a stop on the top so you don't drive past the ramp. Low profile enough so that your bumper doesn't push it away.

Black one is 12,000 lb capacity
Silver one is 8000 lb capacity.

It is safer to get the strongest one.

He means something more substantual and perhaps raises the car higher than Rhino ramps? Also there are several lifts out there starting around $2,000.

I've got basically the same thing in steel. Had 'em for years. One of my MG's is on four right now. I tend to jack up the car and place them under there if I am going to use them for prolonged periods of time. I also put them in oppsed to each other so that the car does not ever have a chance of rolling off.
