While you might be able to get the other parts by going the 250 route, you'll probably end up spending the same amount of money, if not more. The complete setup seems like the more feasible option since it gives you a good foundation to start with having all the major pieces needed.

greeting guy and e34 lovers,

i have an e34 535i m30 and i found 2 manual trannys for my project. one is for sale 600$ complete with clutch items, driveshaft, shifter, electrical and other misc hardware, and the boot. The transmission is missing part of a rear mounting tab that may need to be fixed. VIN is still intact and from the photos seems to be in good condition. on the other hand i found one for $250+ but just the tranny.

first of all what are your comments on a manual tranny change for my A/T e34 535i to a M/T? what are the pros and cons? if i get the cheaper one where will i find all the other parts? and what are all the parts i need to get the job done right anyway? what do i have to watch out for?

thanks man! ok he's also offering an e28 flywheel and clutch. are these upgrades good?

have you heard of any conversion success stories? first time in doing this. is it pretty much a strait forward job since the part comes from an e34 535i as well? what should i watch for?

thanks!
