I'm doing a bit of paint on the car, more than just touch up. I've got a spray gun to do a better job than a can, but I can use some pointers. So far, I've put some rust stop, some primer on top, and then sanded some more and put a bit of scratch putty to even the surface. Now I've sanded the surface nicely enough (1000 grit), so it's ready for some paint.

Any websites as a reference ? Autopia.org has good hints, but not quite what I'm looking for.

Here are some links - make sure you protect your lungs and your skin/eyes especially if you are using basecoat clearcoat - it is REALLY BAD! Don't even think about using it without a respirator or charcoal filter mask (professional - $30). Now, with that said, if you have used rattle can primer, you may want to redo it with a professional grade polyurethane or epoxy:

Good luck!
