Guys,

I've found an E39 getrag s6s 420g for £500 - does ANYONE have any idea if the E39 v8 M62 boxes will mate upto the E34 M60 engine?

Will pounce on this one quick if they do and get it fitted over the summer.

From what I have read and been told they are exactly the same transmission. Is there something wrong with the 6spd trans you currently have?

I was told that they wont fit up, I just did the swap from auto to manual. I didnt try the M62 because of what I was told. I'd be very interested in the out come of this.

I know i could have used an E34 540i shift rod on my E39 540, the parts fit up properly. As far as the selector rod, no clue. Also, www.understeer.com shows the same parts for the E34/E39.
