will a 1990 e34 525i manual transmission work on a 92 525i trans conversion?

Assuming the 1990 is a model year and has the M20 engine, we are thinking about mating a Getrag 260 trans with an M50 engine that would have been mated with a ZF S5D 310Z or ZF S5D 250G trans.

As Johnny Cash said in One Piece at a Time, "when we went to put it together, all the holes were gone........" :D So, unless someone here knows otherise, it will not work.
