Hey there-

My stock dampers and springs are approaching 150,000 miles, and it is DEFINITELY time to replace. Car is a 1995 525it.

What I would love to do is accomplish 2 things:

1. lower the car slightly

2. have as smooth a ride as possible... (This is now our only 'Touring Car', and we take long trips with it, etc...)

Is this going to be hard to accomplish? Do slightly shorter springs always imply a firmer ride?

Any specific suggestions and advice welcome. Thanks-

You don't have the LAD/SLS, so you can drop in any combination of sport springs and shocks.

Yes, it will be a bit firmer then stock and if you go bigger rims that will add to it too.

Yup. I'm experiencing that now. Recently put 18" M Parallels on the car and am definitely noticing a difference in ride. I'd love to be able to counteract that somewhat. Have any suggestions for dampers? Anyone used the Bilstein Touring model before?
