Have you opened up the flip out key to check if there is a chip inside? In some cases the chip is just glued down and it may have come loose. Just use silcone adhesive to glue it again. The chip needs to be mounted on the key as close as possible to the ignition switch or transponder will be out of range. or you can get a replacement key from the dealer. Dealer in California charged $60 USD for a oem replacement key. If you need instructions on how to, I can email it to you. It is in pdf format and I'm unable to attached it this posting.
