Greetings everyone,

did some extensive research, but couldn't find my answer. does the E34 cargo cover come standard or optional?

I feel kinda "naked" without it covering my belongings, and wanted to know how much it would cost to get it if it is an optional accessory.

And I think Attack Eagle mentioned something about a rear-facing 3rd row like Volvo wagons...what's that about?

The rear cargo covers were standard in the USA and I don't remember a separate option number listed for them on the build sheets. Tourings delivered without the dog net often didn't get the ceiling hooks for them. We even had one that came with the dog net and no ceiling hooks!

(This was post #3 in this thread)

I think Attack Eagle's rear facing seats are a custom made one off jobbie. As for the load cover, I've never seen a car without one, I would say your best bet would be to source a good used one. Do you have the fittings over the rear arches for one? And do you have a dog guard?

thanks for the help, everyone. I actually don't have the car on me, as it's still getting the heart transplant (chassis has 208k but the engine has 70k, M50TU from 325i).

I wanted to know what I (potentially) got myself into by buying a car from my mechanic without even test driving it. I saw it on the rack when my 535i was in for an engine transplant and thought "what a dream that would be to have 2 E34's in my garage".

People, DREAMS DO COME TRUE!

But yes, thanks for the info about the touring cargo cover...

I have a 1995 525iT and it did not have cargo cover when I purchased it. Does anyone happen to have a picture of a cargo cover installed in an E34 525iT, both retracted and extended fully that they can share in this post?

wow, those cargo covers are pricey. Or am I disillusioned and that's cheap?

no problem...
I just put it back in about 3 days ago for the first time since I bought the car.

nah, they're expensive...
I paid $6500.00 for mine.

Of course it came with a very nice Display case in the form of an immaculate Touring.
