At first I couldn't understand how you mixed up a 535i and 525i but now... Were things living on that door?

This is what happens when you park it under a tree for 5 years. Yes there was stuff living in there. Looks like there were maggots or worms in some of the stuff. Actually there were worms living under the tires and they were flat for so long, there was two inches of dirt/wormshit holding the tire up. There were small trees starting to form in some areas and any leaves that had fallen and collected had composted into rich soil.

Here's others

don't take this the wrong way, but this is exactly the kind of german car you do not want to buy.

Here are a few. Sorry to make you queezy. The sides are going to polish up nicely. The top surfaces are going to take some muscle or I may just cave in and send it to be detailed.

10 minutes with a pressure washer would make a world of difference with this car.

Looks like they had the windshield wiper aero deflector on backwards. That may tell you something, in addition to the appearance of the rest of the vehicle.

E34 from the black lagoon.
Why was this poor car abandoned to the elements for so long?

They were face with getting this in better shape or buy a new car. Dealer told them it would cost $4000 to repair. Of course they did, they'd rather sell them a new car. They drove it home and parked it in fear that it was not roadworthy. All brakes are practically new, pads and rotors are thick. Hoses look recently replaced as do the wires. Car was always dealer serviced and I'm geussing the PO was just scared of by them. There is no rust on this car anywhere. A few paint chips and sctraches but does not seem to ever been hit. Undercarriage is not rusty at all. The only rusty part I saw last night was the rear calipers, but they are not leaking and are functioning. Wait until I post the interior pics.

What was supposedly wrong with it back then?

I'm waiting for that sheet from the PO but at a hundred something an hour and the prices of parts, things add up quickly. Plus of course they would pad the bill if they would prefer to have them buy a new one.
