Can you not use the old o-ring?

While I was changing my oil filter I had dropped the tiny O-ring in the crevice between the fusebox and the car's frame, closer to the from no the windshield. Is it gone for good or can I get a replacement at the dealer? Advance Auto has a kit for 6.99 that was useless because the smallest o-ring was slightly bigger and therefore useless and now it's stuck somewhere in my canister...

Hi,

The easiest thing to do might be to open up a second filter, "borrow" the o-ring and remember to reuse it when it's time for the next oil change.

The worst that can happen if it leaks is a slow leakdown of the oil canister.

Adnan

all of the o rings and washers come with the filter when you buy it from the dealer.
