If you'd be so kind as to shrink your auction URL either by using the posting tools in your message or the simple http://www.ebayitem.com/310035267668 maybe I could actually read your post without scrolling sideways!!!! Thanks.

Oh, BTW, those look pretty odd IMHO. Interesting, but nothing I'd do. You asked!

So when I got my '89 525is, the front lights were all smashed.
At one point, I had thought that a good updated look would
be some sort of covered light, somewhat like an e39. So
when I was looking on ebay (uh oh..) for some new lights,I saw:

My first reaction was "wtf...". Then I started looking at them,
and realized, minus the bs led angle eyes and all the chrome,
that these lights were somewhat close to what I had thought
of. So, I got them, and they arrived, and they looked like
complete rice ****. So I removed the chrome from the middle,
and finally dechromed almost the whole thing. So now I don't
know if I like them. Sometimes they look so ricey I hate them
and I start looking for euro hella lights, sometimes I think they
look ok. So let me know what you think..

I prefer OEM.

They look good with the more modern rims that you have. Gives it a more contemporary look I think. It would look kind wierd with basketweaves and a darker colored car. It looks pretty decent, and I'm a traditionalist OE freak.

I'd go with euro smileys with city lights

Interesting, but it looks as though the car had one too many cups of coffee. The ringy doodads are throwing it off.

it looks kinda weird to me....IMHO the E36 is UGLY...and the cheap looking plastic light covers have a lot to do with that

I reckon they look sound, but at the end of the day who am I?! Its your opinion that really matters... I love the way my car looks and not many other people outside of this forum appreciate it for what it is. Most people thought I was crazy when I sold my 46 to buy a seventeen year old e34 looks-wise! Best decision I ever made, the e34 is the ultimate driving machine and it looks awesome!

Terrible. If you'd take off the angel eyes i think it'd look sleek.
Hell i might pick a set of those up and do that.

Looks awful, you asked.

haha yes I did ask, and sometimes I agree...
haha. Don't get me wrong, I think OEM e34 styling
is great. But yeah, too much coffee eyes for sure.
I was planning on replacing the nasty LED ones with
the OEM style CCFL that aren't a full ring.
BTW BMWCCA1, thanks for the post help, I had to leave
right after posting, so I left it a big mess...

hmmm dude your giant photos are really annoying

i think it looks cool tho - you need to match it with funky lights (ok those are really bad words i lost my thesaurus) in the kidneys tho or something. definitely sci-fi with those wheels - if you already have a girlfriend it ought to do you fine.

it looks like a 4 eyes nerd strung out on too much jolt cola

a deer in the headlights

etc.

get rid of the faggy entry level styling angel eyes and they might be salvable...

nahh I take it back... they don't even FIT the curves of the trim panels or the hood, and they block a good portion of the grill opening.

Yeah, the angle eyes are just 4 blue LEDs with plastic over them, but I didn't buy them for the fake honda angle eye look. I'm planning on making the grills vent like they do stock, as they are blocking cool air.... Anyways, my original plan was to throw these out when I get a wide grill and respray, and go with depo euro smilies. Heap of rust on the right was my brothers 88? Subaru brat "project".
