signature pic, cuz here comes new wheels babyyy! Found a set of good condition throwing stars, E34 spec, non-staggered from a CCA member in San Diego, with Kumho's (35% tread left) for about $1200. I'm going to work him down a bit because of the minor knicks on them.

Anyway, to the good part, questions and pics...

1) So I'm going from 235/60/15's to 235/45/17. No more beef, but whatever! The calculator (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html) shows a 3.0% speed difference. Is there a way to adjust the computer to read for this? Also, I shouldn't experience any rubbing issues or any of that, correct?

2) Kumhos's. Nuff said, right? So what should I throw on the bad boys.

3) I have my regular 235/60/15, 15" (of course) spare. If I have some event (blowout, flat), and I mount the 15" with the 17"s, what kind of hellish experience will I experience for the day or two until I can get a new tire? Should I hunt for 1 more t-star?

4) So I have my honeycombs (sig picture). Anyone want em? Pretty good condition, MINOR rash in a small area on 2 of the wheels, other wise they just need a good clay bar to remove all the nasty brake dust and plenty of treat with 3 Nittos and 1 Michelin (got a flat).

5) SHOULD I GET THEM!?!? Haha, and if so, what do you think is a fair price?

So I'll be driving to San Diego Saturday morning to mount em and ya!

PS: So 2 of them have MINOR knicks on the outside of the wheels, we went over every picture and the rest of the things other than on the lip are water or optical stuff. Can these things be fixed easily or for a minor cost, or should I just go by that online "NASA" guide showing the Porche wheels? The only other thing is hes not sure of the condition of the inside black parts (covers off) and there is some stuck brake dust on picture #1, this should come off with a clay bar right?

THANKS GUYS, PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE

NOW! Here are some hi-resolution pictures: (click the pics)

235 45 17 is a factory dimension, so the computer will be PRECISE NOW, it was 3% off before.

and no rubbing will happen.

A little quick math gives me 663mm overall diameter for the 15" combo and ~643mm for the 17s, less than an inch.
I don't see any reason to be too afraid of mixing in the event of a flat. If you have LSD then it will be working full time if your flat is on the rear so if any more than a short distance I'd do some shuffling to keep the diff. happy.

Hmm I see, well I'm not TOO worried about it because if I got a flat it would be replaced within a couple days at most...the only thing is I hope nothing happens on the remaining Kumhos so I don't have to go and flip a bunch of $ buying for all 4 since there is almost nothing left tread wise. The speedometer thing concerns me though, as my dad watches my mileage (school credit) and hes anal about the #'s....hmmm?

225/60 15 is the factory OEM size. Use this link for comparing tire sizing, http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html.

235/45 17 is the standard 17" upgrade, but depending on your needs, you could go wider in the rear. I personally enjoy the wide rear look, and I've experimented with many sizes and have now gone very extreme with 245/45 17 in the front, and 275/40 17 in the rear. My 17x8.5" rim is a 20mm offset which I think makes a difference on tire sizing. This is just a FYI on the available tire sizes. The 275s do rub on dips, but there's no tire cutting - so be cautious with this size.

It's ok to use your 15" as a spare - I've done it before and used the spare for several days with no issues.

Don't be worried about the speedo as 235/45/17 is a factory size that should be about the same size as 225/60/15. But in your first post you said you were running a 235/60/15. If that's not a typo then then you've been running the wrong size with the 235/60/15.

I've had both Michelin PS2's & Pilot Sport A/S's on my T-Stars. I like them both, but I like the PS2's a little better.
