Help - stranded

Stopped for lunch and I ended up stranded.

Engine will start up and idle really rough at about 300 rpm for a few seconds then die. No tools here so I will probably call for a tow.

Any idea what the problem could be with this small amt of info?

Towed to my local indy. Off the tow truck and it fired right up. Typical.

Yours is similar to what mine did when my fuel pump went out.

Although mine had a sudden drop in power while driving after turning a corner. I had it towed home and I could still restart it that night, but had trouble getting over a rough idle. Next morning she was gone.
