HI,bought my first bimmer 2 weeks ago a 1995 525i se touring, excellent condition, service history bargin.
just getting used to having just under 200bhp on tap(previously owned a landrover v8).
today i accellerated up a steep hill in second gear and suddenly lost all power
when i stopped it was running rough as if fuel was not getting through. turned off and left for 15mins. when restarted it idles fine but when moving it was coughing and spluttering then as sudden has the power went it returned.
it now hessitates a little when accelerating and the cam chain sounds like its hitting the rocker cover, but this seemed fine when i had a look. been used to landrovers where you couldn't hear the radio at 30mph, i can hear every little thing in this.can anybody help?. thanks
