View Full Version : Could somebody post a pic or 2 of the Inside of the M30 engine Oil Pan?

To make a long story short, I had a timing chain guide failure which cause the chain to jump the sprocket. Mayhem ensued including broken valves. Top end is all back together now with new valves and fresh valve job. Now I am now trying to fish out the plastic pieces of the chain guide from the bottom of the oil pan via the level sender hole and need to see where pieces may hang up.

Thanks,

Ross

Either drop the pan and get it all out or rely on the screen in the pump.
A case could be made for rinsing the pan out as well as possible through the drain hole.

most, but I am worried about a large chunk blocking flow into the screen. Going to try and borrow boroscope from work and get a better look. But I really am trying to avoid dropping that pan. Did it 2yrs ago, SUPER PITA.
