For good, quiet, effective, and dust-free operation, which brake pads work best on 535i?

Worst?

Where to buy?

Price?

BMW brakes are quite efficient....I just replaced mine on my 94 530.....smooth, quiet, but very dusty......especially in the front. I use a good wax on my wheels and they don't get dusty near as soon.

Mintex red box pads are terrific for normal everyday use. Great bite and not dusty. They are not good for the track but if you don't track, you'll be fine. Plus, they are very inexpensive.

For me I have Mintex red box on everything I drive.

series ceramic pads that are available at checkers, pepboys, advance, some autozones.... I have installed just about every pad out there with the exception of ebc's and I have gotten zero complaints about the QS pads, they are around 47 for bmw applications.

I installed a set of the Raybestos Ceramic QS pads on my 1991 535i around the beginning of the year. They provide the same stopping power and are quiet. But the best thing....NO MORE DUST!!! I have style 5 wheels and the factory dust was driving me nuts. Now with the QS pads I don't really even notice any dust when I wash the car. I highly recommend them.

Is Raybestos QS the same thing as Raybestos PG Plus? I cannot find the QS, only PG Plus... Code for PG Plus is PGD394QS. Is this it?

I went to Raybestos web site and PG Plus (Part # PDG394QS) is not ceramic but semi-metallic. Raybestos QS which is ceramic but Raybestos don't make them for E34.

SEE the button that says Quiet stop... on the actual website push that button and it will give you a description of the quiet stop pads.

Yes, you're right. I went into catalog/parts instead catalog/consumer.

Thanks...
