Hey all I have the oil pump from my M50 motor but its got 200k on it. I am hesitant to put the pump back in. It worked absolutely fine, but I dunno something seems not kosher about putting the pump back in on a new engine.

I cannot find any place like bimmerparts.com or autohaus or bma that sells oil pumps. Is it not worth replacing? Is it no longer made? Wtf?

Jon,
I can't believe you are asking this.
How much money in this build??, Someone has the pumps.

No one has the pump but dealer.

Seems a funny place to skimp. Pay the man I say.

No one has the pump but dealer.

What about those professional engine-rebuilders you find around the net? Maybe they can source them cheaper?

I just called a few places, they're all giving me the dealer price. I think I may just order the part from my NJ dealer to avoid tax. $320 sucks, but its worth the security factor

Actually shipping from the NJ dealer says $40 (!?) and Bimmerparts (Zygmunts) wants the same price. Sales tax in this case is less than shipping... guess I will call them later to order it.

Jon,bear in mind what you`re about to ask that pump to do,is it worth considering a supplementary pump/tank/filter for the turbo feed? Doesnt need to a big pump, I used a simple Electric motor with a gear pump for my old 2 turbo installation, seemed ok, its the pump people use for diff coolers, might make turbo last!

No ****! I was wondering why you were being a chiseler for an oil pump, I figured a hondo for one, tops.
Ahh, you're better off giving Fritz his money. If that motor were to die because of a 200k pump you'd never stop kicking yourself. Besides if I had your money I'd throw mine away.

Called VAC and am picking up their upgrade pump - it works between the E36 and E34 and just swaps the pick up tube over. Should be $299 plus my core pump, so, hopefully that'll work out.

Welding the tube on?

No if you weld the tube on you can't get the oil pan off with it in the car haha.

If you end up needing any more dealer only type of parts order them from mileoneparts.com (Tischer BMW) as they've got the best pricing, great service, and they only charge you what it actually costs to ship something.

If the part # for the pump you're looking for is 11411740155 Mile One wants $303.20 for one. But that one you're picking up from VAC is probably the better way to go.
