i gotten a 3 gauge pod (voltmeter, temp & oil pressure) from ex-VW Golf with sensors for oil pressure and temp.

some questions i have:
1. where is the default oil pressure switch on a M50 engine - is it easily accessible?
2. instead of the supplied pressure sensor, can i tap into the existing oil pressure sensor (or is that just a switch)
3. for temp, i need to calibrate the scale - what is the typical oil temp ranges (in Celsius) for a M50 engine?
4. in the past i read on some online bimmer forum (forgotten which one :( in which a US guy had a template cutout to house the gauges sitting on the central console below the ashtray - does anyone knows what i'm talking about and the url to that - i probably need to reverse mirror his layout as mine is a RHD and the dash orientation is opposite to LHD cars.

many thanks ahead.
