Hello,
I'm looking for a manual flywheel to fit my 1995 540i. I'm going to convert it to a 5 speed. It seems finding a flywheel is fairly difficult. Will a E39 M62 flywheel work for me on this? If so does anybody have a spare one or know where I can find one. The second part of my question deals with the accelerator bowden cable. I've been looking everywhere on line and I can not seem to find this part either. Can anyone help me out with? I want to thank everyone that has helped me out so far with my project. I'm just about ready to start the transmission swap. I have the info I believe I need to make the electronics work between the different types. I will be finding out soon. Again thanks for the information and help.

Why 5 speed? Are you using a gear box from a 530?

Yes, I got it for free. It came from a 94 530 V8 with 90K. I probably wouldnt do the swap otherwise. I like to shift over the auto but couldnt afford the swap any
other way. I'm going to get the transmission, peddle assy, diff, driveshaft, shifter parts both inside and outside and I got it all for under a 100.00. I figure I can afford to buy the clutch kit and flywheel, master and slave cyl. I would like more to install the 6 speed but they are out of my price range.

I am envious. I paid 2 grand plus shipping for the 6 speed conversion package with a 70k mile gear box. That was almost two years ago.
