the motor doesn't make impressive power for it's displacement / cylinders, and adding in the cost of the swap plus increased maintenance, there are better / cheaper options for you out there.

hi was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the 5.0 V12 out of the 750i think its E32 correct me if not, also is it a fairly straight forward conversion putting it in a M50 equipped E34 touring? any input either way would be very helpfull. seems like a very cheap way of upping power a bit also torque figure would be helpfull.:D

Yeah its an easy swap. The M50 harness plugs right in and the air conditioning lines right up. Don't need much of anything except the engine.

i take it the ecu will have to be changed? will my gearbox handle extra power/torque bearing in mind im gonna be using it for drifting!

A member here has done the swap, kalevera. Search and you will find his posts regarding the swap.

I have helped this guy to get it running in an E30 racer

You need all wire looms from the V12, EML, cluster!, tranny (or if you use manual gear you have to trick the EML)..., but that is all in the thread how we solved it.

OT but...

Cool!
I should do that to my style-5s when I get them refinished for summer ;D
Although I'm probably going non-shine grey or black.

Since the whole point of drifting is not to have traction the gear box wouldn't be highly stressed.

cheers for input guys will have a proper sift throght thread on conversion when i get a little more time/sleep, gearbox will take imence battering drifting & my genral driving style. i know it is a fairly low bhp for it's size but reson for 750i must make soo much torque 5tourings are very lardy compared to 200sx and similar and make very good power with few mods so im hoping to make up for the shortcomings with driveabuility (is that a word) no turbo lag & power everywhere + can get low mileage whole car for around £300! got a few thousand to spend when i finish breaking my old car & my friend is a good engeneer. i would never consider taking on a project like this with my very limited spanner skills.
