View Full Version : 2008 Calendars anyone?

Some of you may have noticed my absence from the "other" BMW site. I promised to make a 2008 e34 calendar like I did last year. Well I got banned from the other site for silly reasons (search my posts) then the management over there told me I couldn't sell the calendars even though I wasn't making any money off them whatsoever. I got fed up with the other site and I won't be going back there for a while. For the past couple years I spent WAY too much time on internet boards and I pretty much cut that aspect out of my life (except for a local one I post on once a week or so).

I apologize for not following through on my promise to make calendars for the 2008 year. I now offer you the tools to make your own calendar.

Here is a gallery of the submitted photos http://zwilliams.smugmug.com/gallery/3395858#220073953
The site I use to make the calendars is www.lulu.com
The calendars end up costing around $30 shipped and they are good quality.
It really isn't that hard to figure out how to make the calendars but if anyone has questions you can email me or IM me (zacwiliams). I'll check up on this thread for a bit to see if there are questions.

Again, I apologize and I hope everyone can forgive me.

ooh... Don't let BMW catch you doing that!! If they are anything like Ford (who threw a wobbly at Black Mustang club releasing a calendar)!!

Great photos, BTW!!

yep, of course what with kevlar's newfound money-making skills (linking the site to other random 'nada que ver' sites with some gayfer link) he is now less tolerant of people asking what once was considered NORMAL OT questions.
Kind of silly, OT says it is for OT and you may be offended, so why complain when people are? All you did was ask for pornsites that were surfable on an iphone.

I are am new person over there too ///

I am shia lebouf's ebay alias in transformers... ;)

Sweet. I'm buying one... hmm maybe more...

(Very nice work Ant!)

It even has Whit's venerable V12 touring (or did he end up selling it?)

Bf.c E34 section is shrinking slowly. Such a shame :(

I don't post much on E34 section any longer either.

I was harassed by vendors in the FI section for selling MS kits at a $50 - $100 profit. 20 hrs of labor for assembly and I make $50 - $100... do the math.

Then I designed a circuit board and decided to offer it for $0 profit and I would pay shipping to get it to people, nope that didn't fly either.

I've been TO'd 3 or 4 times over there... its a shame.

I'd say how much BF.C blows, but Kevlar would probably find a way to ban me on here as well.

Just a quick note, I'm currently working on an E34 site and forum and would love to see some traffic. I used to run several high-profile sites/forums but have been away from it for about 3 years, but really want to build a quality E34-specific site. As a long-time forum admin, I tend to be very light-handed on the moderation duties. Unless of course you act like a total dick after multiple warnings and the rest of the community is clamoring for action... =)

Check out the forum here:

The site is brand new, only a few weeks old. I would love to see my fellow E34 lovers over there.

No disrespect to bimmer.info btw, it's a great site. :)

Overzealous moderators over there. Banning someone like Antrieb over the iPhone thing is just ridiculous. Maybe it's time to start hanging out here more often...

I created one this morning if anyone wants to buy it. Its $19.95 plus. Just search BMW, E34, or redfive. www.lulu.com

it does... and the sob wouldn't even give the e34'ers a DIY subforum for all the writeups.

But e39s get one for 18 things... you know real difficult mods like changing wiper blades.

now that I have adobe pro, I think i will go back and turn all my writeups into .pdfs and take them down from bf.c. Just leave a link to where they can be downloaded ala shogun.

True. I find myself not posting on there like I did this time last year. A lot has changed since then. Kevlar seems to be in it for the money too, so that doesn't help. If it does not make him money, he will probably not want it on his site.

I can host those on my website also. Agreed on the sub forums too... Not only that, the E39 forum also has 3 mods that are regulars. Nothing against Beastmaster but I really do not seem him on there that much to moderate the E34 section. I already tried becoming a mod on there with no success. I read and agreed to the rules and never heard back from Kevlar.

not to show any disrepect either, but why would members go over there when all the information is on this site, has been established for several years and has a wide and knowledgeable user base?

There is almost zero moderation on this forum to begin with.

Yeah, it'd be nice to have something for the E34 like what r3v is for the E30, but with the maturity that's sorely lacking there. bf.c is all about E36s and heavy-handed administrator/moderator interference.

Wow, I didn't even know this site existed! If it wasn't for all the hoopla on that other forum, I wouldn't have ever come here.

Sorry about all the hassle over there Antrieb, but I can't help but be somewhat happy about it...I mean now I've got another resource for E34 knowledge!

Good question, and no offense taken. I had the same thoughts when I started my last site, yet 1-1/2 years later when I sold the site it was getting 8-10k hits a day, so you never know. ;) I plan to focus on E34's specifically, I guess time will tell if it gathers a following.

But again, it was not my intent to jack the thread or try and steal users from any of the other E34 forums, so I'll shut up now. :)

Back on topic, I was looking forward to an E34 calendar as well, I think I'll drop over there and order one.

there have been and still are e34 only web resources... like e34life etc. none of them really took off after teh initial response.
I wanted to migrate more over here... but with the constant outages, out of order posts, and conflicts with some members, i decided to stay where the majority of touring owners are, and where I am not restricted to 4 pics per post. at least for now. :D

Hey Zac! Good to see you over here. People said you were banned because of you last post... so I decided to look and see how naughty you were. WTF!!!

Anyways. Yea, I've noticed it's very different over "there" now, and have decided to reply to less and less threads. Usually, I'll see who the OP is, and then decide to read it. Good to see familiar faces.. eh.. names.

Hey Red... which e34's did you put in your calendar?

things are different. I miss some of the 'old' faces that rarely participate anymore.

OT.. how's the swap going? You need to keep me inspired so I can do mine next.

with any luck, in the morning it won't leak anymore and i can finally install it. :D

ahh.. I did see it. I didn't realize you were ladiesman. Now i know. See... I didn't recognize the name, so I pretty much ignored it. lol.

D/S is assembled, tranny is ready to go in (i hope), still need to put my other output shaft in, and put the hardline on the clutch master. that is about all that is left.

Yes, BF.c == bimmerforums.com, and OT means the off-topic subforum.

bimmerforums.com = drama, unfortunately. The E34 forum is relatively clear of the silliness, but it does occasionally get through.

I've only been on bf.c a short while and as far as I'm concerned its totally different from this board....while there is a ton of activity on that site this one is a smaller community of people which I really like...I think this is where the true E34 peeps hang out

bf.c has become a police state.

The Hawaii sub forum was getting heat for too much "adult content" not porn or anything...just a bunch of joking around.:(

I'm telling you it all changed for the worse when that stupid 'sync' crap was added...
i mean really hwhat use is it? I saw one interesting looking thread title just one this whole time), clicked on it and was told Ihad to join whatever site to read the damn thread...

EXACTLY! As soon as we were connected with more forums, Kevlar got his panties up in a bunch about anyone saying naughty things.

OT is anything but OT anymore. If I want to post porn sites and cuss I'd be better off doing it in the damn e34 section.
