Had to bring the trusty e34 535iM out of hibernation this morning, because....
Let my truck warm up then drove off, got half-way down the block when I saw the temp needle climb from the middle all the way to the top....$hit!!
Got it back into the driveway with a puddle of antifreeze under the rad, checked the coolant and it was only good to minus 18 degrees C. Had it flushed in October, not going to trust them anymore :( ...
Conditions: -48 degrees C with a wind-chill, had truck plugged in overnight though...., not the coldest I've seen, many moons ago I spent a winter up at Great Bear Lake, -55 degrees C (no wind-chill), pretty common that year....had to keep all vehicles running 24/7.....
note to self--->move down under asap! ;)
