It seems we have a run on the go. We have at least one M5, one 540iLE and probably another 540iLE, and probably one 535i - and possibly another. There may even be a Fairlane Ghia - but I've offered to let him drive my car to keep his car out of the convoy.

Any Sydney-siders with an E34 weant to join us?

Leaving Dural at 10:30 for a drive and lunch. Possibly Brooklyn or Wisemans Ferry.

Post here if you are interested and I will advise the address.

Ian

Hi fellas,

Kris is right- I have trans program error (the damned A-clutch was on its last legs for 3 years...), so I have a manual conversion on the drawing board.

Am getting round atm in a stock '90 525i.

Plus I am on holiday at the moment- am due in Vienna on Monday- presently in France!

Hope you had a great cruise.... more soon!

fun day and I drove on some roads i thought never existed before. this was up in the way, way northen parts of sydney. i don't have any pics but frank v (not a member on here summed it up best).

it was great day.
We all met up at Ian's.
David came up in the rented Fairlane; which he left at Ian's ... and he just bum'd lifts (and drives) off us. He had passenger/drive stints in both Ian's M5 and my #15
Richard came with son Andrew (who also had a drive of #15. Man, he just banged ON and ON and ON and ON about the brilliant/incredibl e/awesome sound of my car. Ho hum ... never noticed the sound of it myself ... ;o)
Kristian (Mr. Karisma ... did I spell that tag right?) came in his 535i;
as did Peter (Ian's son) and Greg and Hayden (not sure if their's was a 535i or a standard 540i ... but it had brilliant wheels!).
We set off for Brooklyn via Galston Gorge. Nice run ... but hampered by some traffic, and the everpresent tought of HPs.
Lunch as the Anglers Rest.
Quick fang up the Old Pacific Hwy back to the Pie in the Sky, for a group car photo. Richard/Andrew and Greg/Hayden left us at this point; leaving Ian, Peter, Kristian, and myself (with David still car hopping).
Up the Old Pacific Hwy to Peats Ridge, then veered off to go right across to Wisemans Ferry; across the Hawkesbury River on the car ferry; and then back down to Ian's place; for coffee and chat (sans David).

A great day; great weather ... great cars ... great blokes.

p.s. (Geoff) I need to talk to you ... friend, pal, buddy ... ;o)

Cheers; FrankV; #15

I'm just back from a run up the coast to Murwillumbah and back via Tamworth (had a work visit to make - but took time to walk through the country buskers). Monday was a run from north of Kempsey up the Oxley Highway to Tamworth, then down the Putty Road. Lots of corners that are easily doubled or better on the advisories. I had my wife with me and she complained of nearly falling out of bed after we got home because she was dizzy from all the corners.

Here's some of the scenery too - 200' high Upper Apsley Falls near Walcha

and looking back towards the fog we just came through at the top of the range
