Ah, those were the days....<sniff, sniff>

Having owned 4 E28s (one diesel, one 533i and two 535is) I really like the lines of them, the M5 most of all. Great looking car.

...about the E28 which just feels 'sportier' in some ways, even the non-M5's. My first E28 was an '87 535is w/ 269k on it....it handled/ran like a raped ape, but had a lot of rust on the underpinnings, door bottoms, etc. Next was an '88--same model. Just a great car. Then came the M5. Wow. Wasn't so happy to find my ins rates double after buying it, then increasing another 50% due to my ins co re-'assessing premiums for exotic cars'. Never even got a ticket or any accidents. No thanks--rates are crazy enough here already.

If it weren't for the fact they have 'rust' tendencies, and a clean example is tough to find up in the Northeast, I'd probably still have one, at least as a 'toy'! :)

very cool car...love the primal look of the E-28...no BS, all business. Looks like it can go like hell and it does.
All those throttle bodies on the M5 engine makes me drool....sure beats the shoe box plenum on the regular M-30.
Nice to revisit old cars lost once in a while.

You need to look over here, hardly any rust on cars at all and plenty of E28s (and other old cars) around. The rain washes it all away I guess. :D
