Blower Motor?

My blower motor is only working on number 3 and 4. I was reading online and found that it could be one of two things. The switch or the "sword" heatsink. I took apart the left and right side on the center console and I have no switch so I'm guessing I have the sword heatsink. Is this my problem before I go tearing it apart? It is a 89 535.

no one can be certain but it seems you have the sword. i suggest you take it out then inspect it.

it is located near the cabin microfilter, 2 screws are holding it. you access it from the passeger side. feels like a little black plastic housing, you take out the screws and pull out the whole sword.
