I'm trying to remove the cover (#20) (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=HD23&mospid=47408&btnr=64_0114&hg=64&fg=18) so I can access the heater valves and also the auxiliary coolant pump. It has to be very simple to do and I've been tugging this way and that, but it won't budge and I don't want to break it.
Any ideas?

Thanks

There are 3 wire clips that connect to posts. Get down even with the top of the cover and you will see them. Try the inboard part of the cover first, the side closest to the engine. There is one lone post on that side, and try a quick short yank, if it doesn't release, then get down even with the cover, locate the post and with a set of long needle nose pliers find the wire clip. It will be directly underneath the cover. Grab the clip and pull it away, the other two should release after that, but it will still take a sharp, quick yank.

Hope this helps.

It's funny, this cover wasn't available on my BMW, but I bought one anyway and installed it.
