Hi everyone,

I just had my rocker panels and the bottom of the rear apron painted to match the body colour,. It's not an M-Tech sideskirts install but Alpina didn't adopt that until a few years later for the very few last B10s so I didn't want to go that far. The original scheme is in my signature picture below for comparison.

I like it but haven't quite decided what I think of the rubber mouldings at the door sills being in black. It might be a little "stripey". What do you guys think of the look?

Enjoy!

Looks great! Any chance you can give us your procedure for stripping off & prepping the black rocker area?

Cheers,

The local BMW-authorized paint shop owed me a favor, so I must admit I didn't do it myself.

Enjoy,

Why not the lower door strip as well while you were at it?

Since the lower moulding is flexible I wasn't ready for the possibility of paint flaking. If I could have been sure it wouldn't flake I probably would have gone for painting those as well. Since it didn't look like that was going to be a sure thing it seemed better to stay with black. Also this way if I were to decide I really didn't like it going back to black would be easier.

Enjoy!

p.s. - I guess I'd better update my sig picture...
