Finally decided I'd update the yellow corners to smoked to better match the black bimmer. Bought some el-cheapo Depos off the web for $10 + s/h. Well you get what you pay for.

Here are the problems with them:

- very low overall quality control on the back casting
- the lamp socket is very bad and the bulb holder will not clip in or seal
- there are two heat vents in the corner on the back of the lamp and they have a special insert that allows heat to vent while not allowing dirt in. The upper vent is reverse molded (mirror image reversal) such that the seal will not work. Also, the inserts are very poor quality and will vibrate out. The ones from the Hella lamps won't fit due to excess plastic in the casting.

Bottom line - shinola.

I'm working with the vendor now to get my money back.

And you didn't even mention the gaskets arond the edges. They won't last long.

They're good if you get them dirt cheap. I got three sets and one ugly chrome (free) set at less than $15 bucks a pair. Just replaced a set last month (2 years in use). The gasket surrounds are rubbish, as usual.
