AC/Compressor Woes

So I was fooling with my fusible link on my 89 525i a while back, disconnecting it and reconnecting it. Well that problem is resolved, however my AC no longer works. I checked, and the system has pressure and refrigerant, however, the compressor DOES not turn when I turn it on. I checked the AC fuses listed in teh fusebox, and they all seem whole and complete. (How do you check these? make sure the wire isn't broken I assume)

Bad compressor maybe?

Do the other parts in your electrical system works? The fusible link is one big fuse for ALL electrical systems... if one doesn't work, then they all shouldn't work.
