just remember if you get lowering springs that are too soft, they will tend to bottom out. Also look at many e39s out there and see how many of them get front bumper damage due to parking blocks. I had that and replaced with a M5 front bumper. The M5/M-tech front bumper has under tray parts that help prevent the parking block disaster. The tray is even lower by about 1/2in and is pretty solid so the parking blocks hit the under tray instead of the bumper cover.

Ordering springs for the e39 540. Looking at the ABT Sportsline for factory smooth ride with a 1.4/1.8" drop. Any comments? Cushy ride is important.

i suggest getting spring which would drop the ride just an inch, which would make it look better, but still keep the softness and you don't have to change shocks then.

Only way to go with e39's are coilovers. Slammage looks gorgeous on them.

You can probably see mine in there :D This was last year, so some lights and suspension stuff is different. But look @ the e39s, they're lowered. The light silver one is my friend Glocati's.
