I don't want to be questioned why I would want to install one. I'm curious to know if it's as easy as tapping the transmission pan twice (for the adapator fittings) to run the transmission cooler radiator at the front of the car at the front spoiler somewhere.

No, you need to get a pressure feed. Can't just put a line into and out of the pan as the pan isn't pressurized.

Doesn't your car already have a tranny cooler built into the radiator? If so, you could pull the return line off the radiator cooler, send it to the auxillary cooler, then hook the aux cooler output up to the return line to the tranny.

So you'd then have it go out fron the tranny to the cooler in the radiator, out from the radiator cooler to the aux cooler, then out from the aux cooler back to the tranny.

Did that on my truck and it worked great. Keeping the radiator cooler hooked up makes sure it doesn't get too cool. You do want the temp to be warm, but not hot.

Thanks very much for your reply and yes, I haven't been drinking but the tranny does have lines into the radiator for cooling. I forgot about that one. duh

on my 535 when i installed the 540 radiator i went to a e36 325 / 93 and up e34 525 tranny cooler, it's the perfect size and bolts to the front of the radiator, i spliced it into the stock lines and that was that

Thanks winfred. Did you use the 540 fan shroud and do you have any pictures of the setup?

gotta use the 535 fan and shroud but the shroud needs to be wire tied on as the radiator is too wide, also need to use two right side lower radiator mounts for it to sit on, the left mount is longer then the right and this offsets the rad to the right a inch, but the 540 rad is a inch wider and you need that room so snap on a right side plastic lower mount and drop the rad right in, the fan is in a different position on the v8 and the v8 fan is larger
these are the only pics i have of it, you can see the shroud in the left side pic is not lined up with the mounting position
