heres a few pics of da fresh meat a 90 318is 5 speed, near perfect body and paint, motor runs with the typical noisy tensioner and a locked up water pump, it has a couple stains on the paint where it looks like it sat under a metal roof but the worst one is on the sun roof which will get swapped for the moon roof out of my old car, the one on the hood should buff out, the tan interior is in fairly good shape but ill probably install the black interior from the old car

now i just need time to rebuild the m-coupe 5 lug onto the new guy and get my 2.8 stroker installed and broken in, then it's megasquirt and supercharger time

it was a little pricey as someone else at the auction had a hard on for it as well but i got it for $770 delivered which to me is worth it as i don't need to **** with the body or paint it, it doesn't even have door dings, when the time comes ill clay bar it whup some wax on it and the exterior will be done

Are the parts from your old (crashed) e30 going into this car?

i've worked on worse, this one belonged to a women who died of breast cancer and someone donated the car, the death certificate was in the packet of crap from the auction, she was mid-late 40s, from the crap in the car it looked like she had the car 4-5 years

That'll cleanup very nice. Good buy for $770. How many miles on it and what was the general mechanical condition? In the PNW, a half decent 318 will bring $3500 or more. That one looks like it would clean up be better than half decent if the mechanicals are good.

Looks nice but what's with the hood? Isn't it supposed to open the other way around? Or is this the, for the lack of better term, "pop the hinges part up higher so the hood doesn't touch the grille" part?

that how e30 hoods open, they open the same as e34s except they pop forward and up a good bit more before you tilt forward

the odo reads 109k miles, locked up water pump and the chain rattles pretty good up to about 3k rpm then the tensioner gets enough oil pressure to tension the chain, it may be ok with just a new piston or it may need a entire rebuild of the chain system, most m42/44s if not actively in dire need of timing components are about to need them, i don't really give a **** about the suspension and driveline (but everything looks ok, i haven't put it on the lift yet but from a general look over it's intact), as i have a fresh m20 2.8 stroker motor with a shreck cam sitting on the stand ready to go that i built for my black 325is, and the m-coupe humongous brakes and 5 lug suspension from the wreck

that rust stain should potentially compound outta there. I'd have to see it, too bad you're nowhere near Oregon.
I'd work wonders for your E30. :(

hmmm, it's almost tempting to spend a assload of money on the shitty leaky rattly timing chain exploadie m42 to have almost the same amount of power that should be produced by the 2.8 m20 that's sitting on my engine stand ready to go, before i install the paxton sn-92 supercharger that's sitting in the lower left drawer of my tool box, should be close to 300 hp by then :D

Whatever you do, don't take it out of the car... that could be the curse. The car always needs ONE death certificate in it, if not hers... then... YOURS!!

Mwuha ha ha... :)

If the hood slams down on your buddy's hand right after he insults you or the car, you'll know why.
