The uphostlery between the rear window and back window is flopping loose, the clips are broken off inside the holes. I've worked them out, but they're broke and useless and its ugly as hell and hanging there.

bimmerd00d is useless and had no reply on IM on what I could do to repair this monstrosity. I hope all of you aren't as dull as he. :(

Dealer for new clips seems to be the best source. This assumes all you need are clips.

The plastic has been broken off completely. Its not connected with the panel at all.

I was actually able to fix mine. I used Gorilla Glue to reattach the tabs to pillar piece.

How did you hold them still for so long. Ugh. I have gorilla glue and I tried this but I cna never hold them together for long enough to make the seal

It took a lot of patience. I remember using some wood shims and clamps. It was difficult to have the shims hold everything still and not glue them to the pillar and tabs.

By the way, how many of the tabs broke off? I can't recall how many I had to repair and I'm not taking it off without already having a replacement. That reminds me to add those pieces to my BMW junkyard search list.

There's a trick involving a very fine drill (1mm) and some steel wire.
I've seen it done to plastic extnesions on RC cars. You drill a very fine hole in the broken surface and the broken off part so that the holes are aligned and insert a steel wire or piece of paperclip. It'l not only hold it in place but make for a stronger repair.
