just realized that your car is a '95
yet it has free-form headlamps and the narrow grille
was the front repaired with different parts?

Well I'm not sure what you mean by free form headlamps I installed Euro smilies and projector foglamps.
About the narrow Grill its something I've been wondering about since I've had the car. I know all 95's have the widegrill but mine doesn't. I'm the second owner and the car was never wrecked or repaired in the front. and the P.O. never retrofitted the narrow grill. SO I have no Idea why my car has the narrow grill. I'm glad I do have it though I like the look of it better. Could it just be a mistake they made at the factory?

I have a 95 525i, and i have the wide grill. I thought all e34 had wide grills beyond 94-95. Seems kinda weird. Maybe you have a 94' 525i?

They're supposed to. Hmmm....

That a rare one ;)

Yes all E34's beyond mid 94 or so were "supposed" to have wide grills. Mine is a 4/95 build date so I'm pretty sure it's a 95. For as long as I've been into E34's I've never seen another 95 with a narrow grill

I have a 3/95 build date. lol! I wonder if they were built in the same factory/location.

I don't know where it was built specifically. I found the build date by typing my vin in Realoem.com

I found a sticker on my car the had the build date exact to the day and the town I forget the name. It says it was built on the 18th of April 1995

Well I'm not sure what you mean by free form headlamps I installed Euro smilies and projector foglamps.Really? Those look like freeforms from 91-93 cars.
I'd be interested in seeing the pic from the front of the car with all the lights off.

WTH, looking at the lights on, my US elipsoids look like ... well, elipsoids, more than your euro smileys.

Must be the camera/camera angle.

My head lamps are very dim even the high beams. I think they need to be realigned. Also the bulbs are of a poor quality. Oh yeah these are the Depo brand if that helps explain anything

The pic makes it look like freeform due to the exposure settings on the camera.

Can somebody explain to me what freeform are?

Freeform are the non-ellipsoidal lights. They don't have that "fisheye" projector in the middle.

I wonder if your car was in some minor wreck. Mine has a clean carfax, but the front bumper is a little off-black, and the drivers side fender has a "DOT-R" tag instead of the VIN tag. See if any parts have the DOT tag, and you'll know.

Sorry to chime in, but my E34 is a 4/95 build date, and it has wide-grille. Something a bit fishy there if your front-end hasn't been replaced...

Hey if you aren't having any problems with the front end, and you like the look of it don't even worry about it. Some nice pics there.

Gee why didn't I think of that:p

Oh and if it was in a minor wreck (which it wasn't) and they replaced the grille. then they would've had to retro fit a narrow hood. they wouldn't go throught the trouble of replacing the hood to match the grille when they could just get a wide grille. Honestly I'm really happy I don't have a wide grille I like the look of mine better...makes it kinda rare I guess;)

Black style 32s (?) would look great on the black car. To complete the deal, I recommend shadow line of door trim and grill.

I saw them on a car on auto trader and thought they looked pretty good despite the fact that I hate painted wheels. Here I am talking about painting mine black go figure. Shadow line is something I thought of ...briefly and theres no way in hell I'll ever paint the grille

95 never came with narrow grill, it was probably in a previous accident and repaired with the wrong parts. very common to have the hood hit along with grill and need to replace both...
