Good job the e34 driver was on the ball there - that muppet in the focus should be shot for endangering a thing of such awesome beauty!

If you nearly miss something then you had to hit it! The driver had great reaction and the car responded in kind.

Notice the wheel/tire delete on the ford? Appears he may have rolled the tire off the rim as you can briefly see through it as it rolls and hits the e34, then settles on the ground.

So is insurance void on a racetrack? How's that work?

I know of an instance where a fellow put his then brand new Ferrari 550 Maranello into the wall at the Milwaukee mile oval course during a "demonstration". As this was not competition his insurer was obligated and did(kicking and screaming)pay for damages.

Nuerburgring on public days is classed as a de-limited public toll road, ( Nuerburgring GMBH words, not mine ) so your insurance is valid. The grey area is when several UK insurance try to avoid paying any claims made on the 'Ring ,or where companies exclude the 'Ring by name in the policy.

Nope! A near miss means you missed it, but it was close!

When I looked into renting a car for the ring, I found several rental car companies in germany with clever wording.

Some called the ring by name and said it wasnt covered. Others said that when you were operating the car on any road that was even occasionally used for racing (including public roads) that you were not covered. Hmm, I wonder what they might be talking about there?
