I recently purchased 2 DME units used on E Bay. Both advertised they worked for my car 10/93 build date 540i. Mt DMe is Bosh number 0 261 200 404. This matches the one in my car. the other is Bosh number 0 260 022 321. will this one also work in my car? If not what does it work in. I may resel it if I know what it works in.

Thanks

321 apparently does not exist, maybe you mixed up the number. -351 does exist as well as 351

The numbers are correctly typed. this unit is slightly shorter than my original and this one does not have DME embossed on the case but rather has GETRIEBESTEUERUNG. Thanks Shogun for your help. Your advice has helped me in the past.

ABS/Auto box ECU?

Just hit the German dictionary:

GETRIEBE TRANSMISSION
STEUERUNG CONTROL

I've just fed GETRIEBESTEUERUNG into Bebelfish and it returned TRANSMISSION PRICE INCREASE (?). Does that mean it's a transmission controller? I've never seen one so I wouldn't know lol!
I looked on RealOEM for part numbers 0 260 002 321 and 1 421 674 and had no joy.

Cheers,

I guess I now have a spare transmission control module. The connector looks just like a DME connector. This is a new car to me. Thanks for everyone's help. It always amazes me the wealth of knowlege around here!
