I think it looks pretty good. A surprise from GM. It's available in 3.6L v6 or 6.0L v8. Rear wheel drive. Front end looks too busy. I hope GM won't use cheap plastic for the interior.

That's a Vauxhaul VXR8...the proportions look a bit weird to me

It's actually built in Australia based on the VE Holden Commodore SS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_G8)

As for the interior (http://cwimg.sv.publicus.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?Site=CW&Date=20070207&Category=FREE&ArtNo=70205012&Profile=1063&ref=V2&maxw=630)...

loooks good. would you rather have a bonneville instead? the interior isnt GM. The GTO is a holden monaro and the interior on that is far superior to the crap GM makes here. The interiors arent shitty plastic like they were 10 years ago but they arent E30s and E34s inside either.

When you look at $60,000 to get a BMW 550 6 speed. The G8 might be a very cost effective solution.

Order in the Holden HSV facia and change the look a bithttp://www.motorauthority.com/wp-content/uploads/GM/VE/HSV/03.jpg

I've always found it interesting how Pontiac's front grill mimics the kidneys on a BMW. (Wanna-Be?) Guess GM was hoping to profit from what symbolized quality, luxury and performance...BMW ;)

The G8 is pretty, and I'm sure she's fast, but I wonder how many miles and years she will go before falling apart like all the rest.

I had a bad time with two Grand Ams several years ago. It really set me against the brand and the focus of GM. I think Chrysler has better products...and Daimler really helped get them back on the road to quality and innovation again.

...a little soap box time. :p

If I had the money, I'd be all for having the v8 one + the Holden bumper/grille to replace the Pontiac uglyness... but yes, I wonder how long before it starts to go kaboom.

pontiac has had kidney grilles since long before bmw symbolized quality, luxury and performance....they aren't mimicking bmw at all.

I guess it's my personal bias clouding my thinking.

Interior layout looks fine except the two tones design. Some newer cars use too many colors and materials together (wood trim + aluminum + two color of plastics) for the interior.

The Holden version looks better. GM always over-style their cars a bit.

My Olds Calais went 147,000 Miles before I sold it and it was still in good shape. Guy at work has 300,000+ on his Tahoe and its still going strong.

my father has several american cars from the 30's, 40's and 50's still running on the original, unrebuilt motors.

We were given a 92 pontiac sunbird and use it in the winter (along with my work truck) rather than the e34. I have nothing but respect for the 'freebird'. We can carry two canoes on the roof, fill it with watever oils on sale and beat the snot out of it.

Granted, its rusting into the ground as we speak and my wife F'in hates it, but.........
