As some of you know, I sold my E34 yesterday. But I think I made a worthwhile upgrade.

Wow, I shudder to think of either how much you paid for it (bad for you) or how little you paid for it (bad for seller)

Damn that's a sexy animal. How is it driving? The exhaust doesn't boom or rasp too much does it? Can you take a vid of it running for sound's sake and post it on youtube?

The price was very fair to both of us i think.

The exhaust is really really nice. Great, even burble at idle. Nice deep throaty groan down low, nice howl up high. Zero drone. I'll try to do video/sound next weekend.

The MPG is as yet the unknown factor. I estimate it shouldnt be too different from my 525i as all my driving is highway.

Beautiful.

And may I say, a natural progression. :)

Beautiful. A e38 is a beautiful car ... and what you have ... that's something else.

When I get tired of e34s, I am definitely going to get a e38 ... it's as sexy as cars come.

Oh damn that's nice. I'm curious about the tranny chip what's it like?

I really don't have a basis of comparison as I have only test driven other non-chipped 7s. I will say that the trans and throttle extremely responsive. The car really jumps off the line.

bloody lovely, been looking at similiar cars in OZ myself recently, hard to find black on black with shadow line, is that a 97/98?

Nice sounds like alot of fun I remember driving a 740i along time ago as in before I had a license and man the thing didn't accelerate like other cars it Leaped like a cat pouncing. I'd say If you had to have something other than an E34 that's the car, very well setup. Enjoy her

Wait a sec, that's an "iL" but did the chrome bumper trim get replaced? ALso, did the chrome trunk lid trim get debadged as well? I like it, but that exhaust would look better on a short wheel base.
Is it a V12 car?

I'd love to see the interior!
My dad has the OEM 740i Sport, and it's got all of that shadowlining factory. I wouldn't buy a long wheelbase E38 myself, but if it's good enough I'd totally get it.

Looks like you found a nice one, for the most part those are some nice tasteful upgrades!

You should put E39 "CELIS" in the tails and red out the rear amber.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa

Why on earth does that look like an iL?

You need to look closer at your dad's car. My dad has an '01 740iL Sport and you can see the extra length.

Those are CELIS tails, just the standard ambers, which I prefer IMO.

Yes, correct, its an i, short wheel base.

bloody lovely, been looking at similiar cars in OZ myself recently, hard to find black on black with shadow line, is that a 97/98?

The 99-01 Sports had the blacked out trim. True short-wheelbase Sports got a 3.15 differential (as opposed to the 2.93 I think), Redwood Trim, Lowered, firmer, non-self leveling suspension, M-style 3 Spoke sports steering wheel, 18" M-Parallels and adjustable a billion ways sport seats and Steptronic Transmissions (as opposed to the adaptive standard transmission) Long wheelbase Sport package cars didn't get the performance mods (maybe they got the trans, not sure), only the cosmetic ones.

This car is a 2000 Sport. In addition to the upgrades in the Sig, it has also been treated to a M5 steering wheel (only real change is the M stitching) and MKIV Widescreen DVD Nav.

I rode in the car a couple nights ago when Alan dropped some parts off at my place and the car is excellent - I think Alanwill be really happy with it - I would definitely not mind it as a daily/commuter. Good grab Alan, and for the price that is really not bad considering what the other options are new in that territory. Hawt!
