Well, I got my car back in one piece (no explanation for what happened.. http://www.bimmer.info/forum/showthread.php?t=34999) i'm going to tackle my thrust and control arms this weekend. But I need a full exhaust system to pass inspection.. (or a really nice inspector). I would like to do the exhaust myself, but time's a crunch. I'm guessing about 550 for the front and rear muffler from BMA and the cat.. well anywhere from 100 to 2000, not sure whats best. Shop that brought my car back to life quoted 3400.. yeah right. If I had time this wouldn't be a problem, but do you think I could get this done at a reasonable rate? My fuel vent lines look pretty crappy too.. All suggestions greatly appreciated

Go to a custom exhaust shop. Damn near anyone ought to be able to fab you up something cheap for under $700. If you have a welder you can buy pre-bent mandrel tubing on ebay for cheap too, and build your own.
