I have a 1990 525i and lately when I start it up in the morning after sitting all night the idle will drop very low and sometimes threaten to cut out when I'm at a stop or sometimes it will cut out. The check engine light comes on when im at a stop but goes away once i start moving. However once I start moving the RPM's will drop abruptly at random times and car will give a heavy jerk and then they jump back up again and it keeps moving. This happens for about the first 20 minutes of driving and then it smoothes out and drives fine. Does anybody know what might be causing this? I had a hole in one of my hoses (can't say which one) that was causing oil to blow back into my engine and that was causing the car to do this all the time, but I got that fixed a little while ago. Any information is appreciated, thanks.
