I've had the 50mph shimmy for a while and my control arms and bushes have checked out fine. I decided to replace my hub rings and also got new tyres at the front which has made a very big difference!
No shimmy now, and the car feels a lot tighter than before.

However, I now have another annoyance :(
A low frequency rumble now occurs which cant really be felt throught the steering, its more felt through the floor or pedals.
The rumble starts at around 45mph and remains even through 70-80mph. It doesnt get any worse with increase speed, but the pitch does vary slightly.

Any ideas at to what may be causing the rumble?!

Thanks

Jack up rear of car, run, sounds like drivetrain, guibo or centre bearing.

what is a guibo? Is that a silly question?

Guibo's the rubber donut between your gearbox output flange and the driveshaft:

Will take a look at that, is it difficult to replace?

Not difficult, you just need full access under the car is all :)
