Hi,

My car was lock from inside while having nice time on the beach.

As a result i deciced and broke the small glass window at the rear LHD door, without realizing that it is very very difficult to replace it.

Is there any hint on how to replace the small triangle glass? What would be the steps?

My car is 1988 e34 520i.

thanks in advance,
rahman

yea thats the hardest side glass to change and for some reason the one people wanna break, the plastic trim on the inside of the divider between the twl glasses pops off revealing 3 + screws for the outer trim, which then can be pulled off, that whole aluminum divider piece comes out once you get the screws top and bottom, it's been a while since i changed one but i am fairly sure you need to pull the main glass out to get the divider out, it's one of those things that you gotta work at, nothing needs to be cut or broken

Actually, i broke the window glass myself. I thought it's easier, but i was wrong.

Man, it's still pending.. even the junk yard guys gave up to pull out the triangled glass window...

Oh dude, you're going to be finding glass pieces in your car for like 10 years.
Vacuum out under the rear seats, lots of it hides in there.

Good thing you hadn't double locked the car. Wouldn't have been nice to find that after you had broken the window the door couldn't be opened from the inside either. :D

Took off two windows from my parts car to sell to someone in california. Then I call the guy up and tell him not to buy them because its impossible to replace without trim and window intact. You have to buy factory window with trim intact and then install. Clips are buried in the molding and cannot be dislodged without screwing it up. I lost 100 bucks on a sale and now doors are no good because windows are missing. It may be cheaper to buy whole door then to buy window from bmw.....good luck

Sorry I may be misleading you. 1988 model window may be different then 1989-95........But if car is E34 chances are you are screwed.
